Rookie Assessment for 2012 NFL Fantasy League
Each and every year, plenty of rookie players make their way into the league, and other than RBs, very few players make too much of an impact in league. Fantasy Sports has made the rankings of these rookie players as per their core skills as well as the probable draft positions in the 12 team fantasy football teams.
Receivers also tend to be given the chance to make a name for themselves in their first year but inconsistency means they have to wait patiently for their turn as well. Listed below are some draft picks that might be brilliant picks in some time for the fantasy team:
Quarterbacks: Andrew Luck is one of those high flying QBs who can turn the game on its head but the lack of a proper running game means that he will throw the ball and try for touch downs and could turn out to be a brilliant back up option at QB.
Brandon Weeden, being the salty veteran of the game, will be the key cog in the offensive line for his team but for a team full of receivers as the Cleveland Browns, might just become irrelevant. Moreover, his game also depends on the performance of the playmakers, without which, he is not worth his salt.
Running Backs: Trent Richardson is another one of those draft picks for the Cleveland Browns and with a strong muscular built and pace to burn, might just turn out to be a key element for the Browns, becoming the engine in the team function.
Doug Martin of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is a solid running back with an extremely good grip on the ball, but there are doubts about how many games he will get, at least until the 11th round.
Wide Receivers: Stephen Hill of the New York Jets can be a brilliant addition to any side and with his pace; he gives the option of throwing the ball far. There are chances that he might get his chance by the round of 12 and if he does, he can make any team dance to his tunes.
Michael Floyd of Arizona has all that it requires to become an elite wide receiver in the NFL and if the team can manage some sort of consistency in terms of the QB play, both the wide receivers in the team could have a tremendous year ahead of them.
Tight Ends: Coby Fleener of the Indianapolis Colts might turn out to be the big surprise. Having played with Andrew Luck at Stanford, he has it in him to become a great and might be used a safety valve for his team. But he shouldn’t be considered as an option before the 11th round.
Adrien Robinson of the New York Giants is one of the most athletic players that the team has signed and if he manages to properly exploit the middle of the field, he is in for a fantastic year and is a must watch player for the season.
